Your account stays active until the end of the current billing period, so you keep receiving leads for the time you have already paid for. Nothing else is locked in either: you can switch tiers, adjust your service area, or pause by cancelling and resubscribing later. Your profile, reviews, and history are all preserved between subscriptions.

A lead fee is a one-time charge applied at the moment you accept a matched lead, on top of your subscription. The exact amount is displayed before you accept, so you always know the cost going in. Fees scale with the estimated size of the project: a full kitchen renovation lead costs more than a small repair job. Pro subscribers get 10% off every lead fee and Elite subscribers get 20% off, which adds up quickly for busy companies. Leads you decline or let expire cost nothing at all.

Yes, upgrades and downgrades are self-serve from your Billing settings. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing, so you only pay the difference for the remainder of the cycle. Downgrades apply at the start of your next billing cycle, letting you use everything you paid for first. Many contractors move between tiers with the seasons: Elite through the busy spring and summer months, then a lighter plan over winter. There is no penalty or fee for switching in either direction.

Major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and American Express) are accepted, processed through Stripe, our secure payment provider. Your card details are stored with Stripe, never on NeedReno servers, and every charge appears with a matching invoice in the Billing section of your dashboard. Subscriptions renew automatically each month (or each year on annual billing), and lead fees are charged to the same card as you accept leads. You can swap the card on file at any time.

Everything you have already paid for stays yours. Cancelling stops new lead matches once the current billing period ends, but you keep access to previously accepted leads, your active conversations with homeowners, your reviews, and your full invoice history. Your public profile is preserved as well, so returning later means picking up where you left off rather than rebuilding from scratch. Jobs already in progress are unaffected: those contracts are directly between you and the homeowner.

Pro raises that to 30 matches, boosts your ranking, unlocks the portfolio showcase and SMS alerts, and takes 10% off lead fees. Elite offers unlimited matches, top placement, a featured profile, competitor analytics, a dedicated account manager, and 20% off lead fees. The comparison table above breaks down every feature. As a rule of thumb, solo tradespeople often start on Basic, while established companies chasing steady volume tend to land on Pro or Elite.

Homeowners never pay: posting a project, receiving up to five quotes, and messaging contractors are all free, and NeedReno takes no commission on the work. The platform is funded by contractor subscriptions and lead fees alone. For contractors this matters more than it first appears. Because homeowners pay nothing and project payments never flow through the platform, your quotes carry no markup and your client relationship stays entirely direct: your contract, your invoice, your payment terms.

Bad leads can be disputed for a credit within 7 days of accepting. If a lead contains false or fraudulent information, such as a phone number that does not work or a project that does not exist, flag it from your dashboard and our team investigates. Valid claims receive an account credit applied against future lead fees. Regular competitive losses (the homeowner picked another quote or postponed the project) are not refundable, since the contact details and opportunity were genuine.
